CBD-Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What exactly is CBD OIL?
CBD is a compound found in the cannabis/hemp plant and is extracted using specific extraction methods such as CO2. CBD comes from the cannabinoid family and offers anti-inflammatory, neuroprotectant and analgesic benefits. Unlike THC, it does not produce any psychoactive effects.
Question: What are the drops /tinctures mostly used for?
Answer: The drops are most popular for day time anxiety depression and inflammation and also moderate arthritic pain. They are broad spectrum and are quick and easy to take. The flavors come from all natural extracts (from either the hemp plant or the fruit itself.
Question: I have heard that cbd oil and cbd oil products can actually cause hallucinations.....any truth to this? Is it just in extremely high doses, and if so, what is considered a high dose? Thanks
Answer: Technically you can take too much of anything, even water. But first you need to make sure it is Hemp derived CBD, not Marijuana derived CBD.
Hemp derived CBD Oil has been shown to be safe in doses up to 600mg/day. That is a huge amount of CBD. The average user will see desired results with doses ranging from 15mg-50mg/day. But it's good to know it's safe in high doses!!
Question: Can you take CBD with prescription medications?
Answer: First, you need to inform your doctor that you are planning to take CBD products. The general rule of thumb is to wait two hours to take the CBD after you take your meds. It doesn’t matter if you take the CBD on a full or empty stomach, unless it makes you nauseous. If so, take on full stomach. Vaping CBD might be the best method to use for those concerned about mixing medications with CBD as it bypasses the liver /digestive system.. IF you are taking any medications that you are told NOT to take with GRAPEFRUIT you probably need to avoid CBD unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. There may also be a complication also with blood thinners, antibiotics and heart medications.. Please, consult your physician.
Question: How much/what dose of CBD should I take?
Answer: While dosing for CBD has not been established, we recommend you take the suggested dose on the bottle/product package. If that doesn’t seem to help then in a week up the dose. Do this until you can see a noticeable difference. Spread the doses out (i.e. one in the morning and then one in the evening). Some say a good beginning dose is anywhere from 10-40 ml while others say 25 is a good starting dose.
Question: Can I use more than one form of CBD at a time?
Answer: Yes you can! For example, for something like arthritis, you can take your dose of CBD oil and also use a topical cream or salve.
Question: What is the strongest form of CBD you have?
Answer: At the moment our full spectrum Gold Label concentrate and our Vape Shot Kit (which uses a concentrated form of CBD) are the strongest forms of CBD we have. You can use both (at different times of the day) for really tough pain. The concentrates are the strongest forms of CBD.
Question: What is the difference between Hemp Oil and CBD Oil?
parts of the hemp plant provide different nutrients. The FLOWER part of the
plant produces THC, the ingredient that makes you high.
HEMP OIL is made from the SEEDS of the hemp plant and contains NO CBD. It is very nutritional, but it does not contain CBD and is probably not what you are looking for if you want relief from pain, inflammation, anxiety or insomnia for example.
CBD OIL is made from the STALK of the industrial hemp plant. It is rich in cannabinoids and has the potential to assist in the relief and healing of many maladies.
Question: Where do the flavors in the Oil come from?
Answer: The flavorings come from natural extracts. Some are extracted from the plant itself and others directly from the related fruit, i.e. an orange.
Question: Is CBD Legal?
At the moment, (April 2019) industrial based hemp CBD is legal to buy and sell in all 50 states.
Question: Can I safely take CBD /gold concentrate on a plane? Will it be taken away at the airport?
Answer: TECHNICALLY I believe they can, but I have never heard of it happening if it is transported as a carry on.
Question: What is the best method of taking CBD to help nausea?
Answer: Vaping as it totally bypasses the digestive system and can quickly deliver the cbd into the body. It is also the best method for those on medications for the same reason.
Question: What CBD product will help with the sickness that accompanies chemotherapy?
Answer: Again, vaping is a wonderful way to deal with nausea and pain because it bypasses the digestive system. Vaping combined with our green label raw concentrate, which contains CBDA as one of its components is a great combination. CBDA is a more potent anti-nausea than plain CBD.
Question: How might CBD help with cancer?
Answer: (As per Catherine Rudolph, certified nutritionist)
Here are a few ways CBD may help fight cancer and manage symptoms:
✔️Inhibit cancer cell growth- stops the metastasis or spread of cancer. CBDa found in our Raw Label and Raw Tasty drops may have additional anti-cancer effects for breast cancer (according to studies)
✔️Reduces inflammation - inflammation is the root of all disease. Reducing inflammation allows the body to heal. Our Green Label and Gold Label are excellent choices for reducing inflammation.
✔️Reduces pain by reducing inflammation. CBD is also a binding agent that blocks certain compounds that trigger pain receptivity. Our Gold Label is the strongest and best choice for pain relief.
✔️May help with nausea - CBDa specifically, found in our Raw Label and Tasty Drops may help relieve nausea.
Reduce anxiety - CBD has a calming, anti-anxiety, and anti-depressant effect.
✔️Helps manage side effects of chemo - our pure oil concentrates may be the best choice due to their purity.
How CBD Works On Cancer Cells
A 2014 study in Biochemical Pharmacology showed that CBD enhanced the susceptibility of tumor cells to stick to killer white blood cells called lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells, leading to cell destruction (lysis). This was accomplished through a sticky protein called intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), which increased with CBD. The ICAM-1 molecules on lung cancer cells were already known to decrease their invasiveness and ability to metastasize.
An anti-inflammatory diet and a comprehensive detox, along with additional nutritional supplements are also essential in reducing inflammation and restoring the immune system.
Question? How long does CBD stay in your system?
it varies of course but the effects for drops is approx 4 hours, vape 2-3 hours, concentrates 5-8 hours sometimes longer.
